Title: Alpha Male

Logline: "American Gladiator" and "The Apprentice" meets "Hitch."  Twenty-five successful men will ante up twenty-five thousand dollars of their own money in a winner takes all competition to crown the Alpha Male of the group.  Each competitor will be challenged in several events to demonstrate his superiority from three basic categories.  The first category is designed to evaluate physical strength and special abilities.  The second category is designed to evaluate intelligence, leadership skills and business mentality.  The final category is designed to test his desirability to the opposite sex.

Synopsis: Twenty-five men, one by one, will enter a classic western themed bar.  A few of the competitors will be easily recognized by the general public, but for the most part, this will be their first time on national television.  The twenty-five are not walking into this bar to seek their fortune, nor are they seeking fame.  These elite men have already concord life's challenges and secured their riches.  They have each come into this bar to pay their entry fee into a contest that most men will concede defeat in before it ever got started.  Defeat is something these males have never tasted, but that is about to change.  In this group of prestigious men, there is one man that is superior to them all.  You can tell by the eyes of each competitor that he fully believes that he is the one that will win it all.  Egos are going to be crushed for the first time and the aftermath of defeat and rejection bill bare a weight that some won't be able to carry.  As for the winner of the contest, he will be crowned the Alpha Male.  His winnings will be each man's entry fee into the contest and the title of "Alpha Male" will be his until he can do longer defend it.  His celebration will be short because just like in the wild, the "Alpha Male" must stand ready for a new group of competitors wanting to establish their own superiority in this modern day jungle.

The Show Format:  The show is hosted by three individuals that have accomplished success in one of the three categories of events in this competition.  Therefore, one host will have great physical toughness, the second host will be a Wall Street Veteran, and the third host will be an expert in male/female relationships.  When the contestants are competing in their field of expertise, that host will be responsible for the explaining the goal of the event and how the event will determine a winner and loser.

During each show, the competitors will be tested on two of the three categories.  For example, episode one might test the men on their knowledge of survival skills and then their ability to serenade a girlfriend.  For the next episode, the men might be tested on their knowledge of the stock market and then their ability to race an Indy stockcar.

Each show will produce two losers and two winners.  The winners will be rewarded with a prize that is designed to help them prepare for a possible future challenges or to help them recover from a past challenge.  For example, a reward might be a book about small engine repairs or a one hour full body massage.  The losers will have to go to elimination to face off with one another.  The elimination rounds are quick and familiar challenges with an extreme twist.  For example, everyone knows how to play a game of pig with a basketball.  Our competitors will might have to play the game under water with cannon balls. The winner will be allowed to return to the group and the loser must return home.  The process is started all over again until only two men are left.  These two men will compete in one grand event that is designed to test their heart and endurance.  To win the final event, the Alpha Male must physically and mentally outlast his competitor.  A winner is crowned only when his competitor gives up and cries out "Uncle."

Summary: Society's definition of the Alpha Make has changed over time. At one point, the Alpha Make was simply the strongest man in the cave.  At another point, the Alpha Male was the CEO of a large company.  Today's Alpha Male has to have a combination of strength, knowledge, professional success, family, and quality of life.

On the path towards finding the Alpha Male, this show will expose men that have been relying on their God giving talents, or family inheritance.  The over confident athlete that skated through high school and college will be destroyed during the intellectual events.  The rich kid that relied on his family's money all his life will find out it is not so easy "picking up" girls without his gold credit card and fleet of cars.  Finally, the nauseating boss will find out that he is not as funny with the audience that is not on his payroll.  Watching this type on man finally fail will being joy to people.

"Alpha Male" is a show that will have fierce physical and intellectual competition, as well as romance.  In short, the Alpha Male will be a "knight in shining armor" that has a successful jousting apparel store and a satisfied princess back at the castle.
